The proposal of the University of Thessaly (UTH) entitled “small business Clinic (IME)” has as its basic goal of linking research and innovation with entrepreneurship for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of small businesses that have the potential to increase the domestic added-value. The proposal is compatible with the priorities set by the European Union (EU) to boost research and innovation in the context of its ‘ Smart Specialization’ strategy and ‘Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS)’ program.

About

The ‘ Clinic’ will provide the basic services free of charge to register companies which includes assessment, diagnosis, advice and guidance to the specified problems. Furthermore, IME will provide personalized services to seeking companies with extremely low pricing. It is estimated that approximately 50,000 companies will utilize the IME services in the first year and after ten years 500,000 new and existing SMEs will benefit from the services provided by the “Clinic”. These numbers project a profitable business opportunity for the shareholders involved and specially to Grant Thornton.
